a t-shirt & jeans

Wow... It's definitely been a hot sec since I've posted anything. Life sure knows how to get in the way of hobbies. Since it's been a while, I thought I'd bring it back to the basics: a t-shirt & jeans; a classic combo, a staple, something that sometimes is just way too common, mediocre, and boring. So, let's spice it up shall we?
Throughout this post I'll be styling my favorite U of SC t-shirt in different ways to prove that a t-shirt can be so much more than the lame sidekick to your favorite pair of jeans. To start, we can't get too crazy (we'll get there, just not quite yet), so pair that t-shirt with some cute jean shorts. See what I did there?? Jean shorts are a great compromise to jeans, not only are they comfortable, but you can find jean shorts in so many different styles, colors, fits, and lengths which means anyone can rock 'em. Plussss you get to display the fruition of all those sweaty, painful leg days you endured at the gym. I paired my t-shirt with these cute '90s inspired jean shorts. I really tried to find inspiration from the one year I was alive during the '90s, so I loosely tucked my t-shirt into my shorts and threw on some white converses. This look was probably the easiest, cheapest, and most universal look I created.

Next please! Next, I wanted to pair my t-shirt with something a little girlier than jean shorts. I thought, "what's the girliest item of clothing I can wear with a t-shirt?" A skirt! Find your favorite skirt, it could be long, short, mid-rise, high-rise, low-rise (although that may look a little interesting with where I'm going next). Once you have your skirt, tie a cute little knot in the front, side, or back of your t-shirt to extenuate your waist and display your skirt in all of its cutesy, girly glory (told you low-rise might not be the wisest choice, but you do you girl). I chose to pair my t-shirt with this white eyelet skirt, a jean jacket (a staple for any closet), and my favorite pair of navy espadrille bow slides.

Congratulations! You made it to the final look. This one is super fun and easy I promise. Now, since we are creating outfits based on a t-shirt and jeans, I thought it only fair to create a look that involved pants. I realize some people may say, "Chloe, jeans are pants." This is what I say to those people, "STAY AWAY FROM JEANS." Jeans are such an easy cop-out. Be creative! It's 2019! There are so many different types of pants out there. Flowy pants, tight pants, ankle length, bell bottoms. I chose a pair of red flowy ankle length pants with small daisies all over them. I paired them with some tan leather flip flops and kept my t-shirt in a knot because why not strive for that hourglass figure? And guess what? They were so much more comfortable than jeans.

HA. You thought we were done here, wrong! I promised something crazy and when I promise crazy I always deliver. While I was creating these looks I thought, "Hmmm how can I be original, how can I set myself a part from the rest of the millennials creating lookbooks?" And then, it hit me. Why should styling a t-shirt only apply to humans!? So, please enjoy this picture of my dog rocking my U of SC t-shirt. GO COCKS!
Love, Chloe Noel

**BONUS**
Remember in elementary school when you used to write notes and you thought you were so cool so you would write a little p.s. at the end? Yeah, well this is my little p.s. I also styled my fav U of SC Dance Company tank top with some black leggings. Yeah, I know super anticlimactic especially since I just went on a 5 paragraph rant about how boring a t-shirt & jeans are, but just wanted to share these pictures with ya. Okay, bye!

p.p.s.
